Sony Alpha a77 Digital Camera

Sony hasn’t been keeping a very tight lid on the upcoming Alpha A77 digital camera. The, still, un-announced camera has now appeared as a nominee for a Good Design Award; an award system operated by the Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization.

Besides a new side view of the camera, the organization’s website confirms some of the specifications we’ve already reported on and adds a couple of new exciting details on the A77.

Upcoming Sony Alpha A77 24MP digital camera images leak

Two more pictures of Sony’s rumored Alpha A77 digital camera have surfaced, courtesy of Dyxum forums, which could end up to be real. The first picture which you can see above, while a second picture awaits for you after the break.

There have been quite a few rumors going around regarding Sony’s upcoming top mid-range shooter which will be based on translucent mirror technology. The Sony Alpha A77, which would be replacing the aging A700 APS-C DSLR, is said to boast a 24 megapixel sensor, new double Bionz processors and a 3-million dot OLED electronic view-finder. The A77 is also said to be joined by a slightly worse spec’d A65.

Olympus new PEN cameras: E-P3, E-PL3 and E-PM1

Great news for all Micro Four Thirds (MFT) camera fans; Olympus has just announced three new cameras for the world’s favorite compact interchangeable lens system. The new PEN compact system cameras feature an updated 12.3-megapixel Live MOS Image Sensor combined with a TruePic VI Image processor that should allow you to capture images at ISO’s up to 12,800.

Olympus is claiming a reengineered autofocus system–we’re glad they’ve been paying attention–full 1080i HD video recording, re-designed user interface and of course a variety of Art Filters.

If you are one of the very lucky owners of the FinePix X100 camera, or are considering to buy one, you’ll be happy to know that Fujifilm has made available an updated firmware for the very capable camera.

The FinePix X100 features a large APS-C sensor, super-sharp fixed focal length lens, in a compact, very solid and very beautiful body. Nonetheless there have been some qualms regarding the usability of the camera and Fujifilm is addressing a number of these issues in this update.

Firmware v1.10 brings a total of 22 fixes and add-ons; with the list of fixes/additions after the break together with a link to download the firmware and a how-to update the camera guide.

There are few things in this world that can get us more excited than the upcoming FinePix X100 camera. We really can’t wait to get this retro looking but so cutting edge compact shooter in our hands, and it seems we are not the only ones.

FujiFilm Japan has announced that pre-order demand for the camera has been much higher than predicted and there could be delays in delivering the FinePix X100 camera, LC-X100 leather case and LH-X100 lens hood.
