No matter how many pictures of the Fujifilm X-Pro 1 mirrorless interchangeable lens camera (MILC) system we see, we still want more. Photorumors has just fed our appetite for more camera porn with a fresh bunch of X-Pro 1 related pics. Above and below you can see the new bounty of razor sharp images of the upcoming all black Fujifilm shooter said to be sized 138 x 83 x 38 mm, full details on X-Pro 1 here. For comparison the X100 measures 126 x 74 x 54 mm.

Controls are very similar to the X100; from the images we can clearly see the exposure compensation and shutter speed dials, while we can make out the old-style cable release shutter button option.

Fujifilm X-Pro 1 MILC

Amazon has jumped the gun on the yet unannounced Fujifilm X-Pro1 mirrorless interchangeable lens camera (MILC). We saw details of the X-Pro1 camera leaked two days ago together with its three lenses.

Now each of the lenses has acquired an Amazon product page and a price. Although all lenses were rumored to be priced $600 each at launch, both the 18mm (27mm equivalent) f/2.0 and 35mm (53mm equivalent) f/1.4 lens have been priced at $500, while the macro 60mm (90mm equivalent) f/2 lens is priced at $600.

Controlling the Nikon D4 DSLR with an iPad

One of the most interesting bits of the new Nikon D4 full-frame DSLR, and deserving its own post, is the ability to remotely and wirelessly control the camera using its web interface. The D4 comes with an ethernet port, though you can also grab the WT-5 wireless transmitter, which attaches to the side of the camera drawing power from it and connects the D4 to any available Wi-Fi network.

Once you are connected to a local area network you can use any web browser to access the camera’s built-in web interface. The power of the interface is incredible, it gives you a live-view from the camera and you can use it to remotely change any of the camera’s key functions, like setting aperture or shutter priority, change white balance and ISO, click to autofocus and of course take still shots. You can review pictures and even switch over to video mode with a similar level of control.

We brought you the full details on the Nikon D4, the company’s new full-frame flagship camera, yesterday. Nikon has today officially announced the D4 and all the leaked specs have been confirmed. The camera will be on sale this February for $6,000 in the US, £4,800 in the UK, and €5,658 in Europe.

The D4 is equipped with a new 16.2-megapixel FX-format full-frame CMOS sensor (imaging size of 36.0 x 23.9 mm) and EXPEED 3, Nikon’s latest image processing engine. The body is made of magnesium alloy weighing a respectable 1340 g (2.95 lb / 47.27 oz). As one would expect from a $6,000 full-frame shooter, the D4 has some cutting edge features. You get a 3.2-inch LCD, standard ISO of 200 to 12,800 expandable to 204,800, 91,000-pixel RGB metering sensor, 51 point autofocus, 10fps continuous shooting in full resolution, 1080p30, 1080p24, and 720p60 video, and even an ethernet port.

You can also attach the new WT-5 wireless accessory, which allows you to transmit images wirelessly or control the camera remotely. Nikon is developing native applications for iOS and Android that would allow you to control the camera from your mobile device, however for now you can already control the camera through its own web interface.

Someone has been quite trigger happy today. The same source that has given us the Nikon D4 leak, has also leaked a wire on Fujifilm’s X-series mirrorless interchangeable lens camera (MILC) system. Though several names for Fujifilm’s new interchangeable lens camera have been rumored, such as LX10 or X1, it seems that it may eventually be called the X-Pro 1.

Thanks to this latest leak we finally have some more detailed specs on the Fujifilm X-Pro 1 MILC. If the leak is to be believed, the X-Pro 1 will receive a new custom-developed 16-megapixel APS-C EXR sensor (up from the 12.3-megapixel sensor in the Fujifilm X100) with a new filter array. The camera will include a second-generation hybrid viewfinder, building on the success of the X100.

Fujifilm will release the X-Pro 1 system with three fast prime lenses. Though a zoom lens was also initially rumored, there isn’t any indication of one for now. The three prime lenses will be 18mm (27mm equivalent) f/2.0, 35mm (53mm equivalent) f/1.4 and 60mm (90mm equivalent) f/2.4 macro.

No need to speculate any further on Nikon’s new flagship full-frame DSLR, the D4. The successor to the D3 and the D3s, has just been leaked in a wire that was set to be released on January 10. The hotly anticipated D4 will be made available starting this February for a $6,000 suggest retail price. The latest full-frame camera by Nikon brings a host of new features and spec improvements over the previous models.

You get a new 16.2-megapixel full-format CMOS sensor capable of up to 10fps at full resolution and a native ISO range from 100 to 12,800 with improved low-light performance; though can be expanded to 50 and 204,800. You also get an improved 51-point autofocus system with 9 cross-type points, 91,000-pixel RGB metering sensor and the ability to shoot full HD 1080p30 and 1080p24 video with contrast detect AF and H.264 compression support.

The Nikon D4, will come with an 100 perfect field of view pentaprism viewfinder and illuminated function buttons. The camera will be one of the first to support the new XQD Compact Flash memory cards and also offers a secondary card slot for conventional CF cards. There are also other niceties like face detection and aperture control while shooting video.

The camera, which is rumored to be named LX10 or X1 or X-Pro1, has been leaked in pictures before but this latest leak shows it in its full assembled glory together with the new Fujifilm proprietary mount.

Olympus is rumored to skip any new major product announcements at CES this January and instead announce its new mirrorless interchangeable lens camera (MILC) camera in early February. 43rumors is claiming that a trusted source has indicated that Olympus will announce a new MILC in the week of 6-11th of February. The new camera will be weather-sealed and have an integrated viewfinder, both of which will be a first for Olympus digital mirrorless cameras.

The new camera could also sport a new sensor, which would make the complete package even more appealing. Things have been heating up to a melting point in the MILC space, with Panasonic finally releasing a worthy GF1 successor, the GX1, Sony has come out with the 24-megapixel NEX-7 with OLED viewfinder and Fujifilm has promised us an X-series interchangeable lens camera for CES following in the bloodline of the very successful X100. We’ve also speculated that we might see the Panasonic GH3 at CES next week as well.

We have to foreword our report by saying that it’s mere speculation based on information we’ve received. What we’ve been hearing from a couple of European retail sources, is that the current Panasonic GH2 has come to an end-of-life (EOL) and brick-and-mortar stock has dried up in anticipation of a successor.

The Panasonic GH2 Micro Four Thirds (MFT) mirrorless interchangeable lens camera (MILC) was announced in September 2010 at Photokina in Germany. It’s Panasonic’s higher-end MFT shooter with a 16.05-megapixel sensor, built-in EVF, advanced manual controls, articulated touchscreen and amazing video capabilities. In fact it has become an incredible creative tool for aspiring videographers. We’ve covered how the GH2 has been hacked into recording video at an insane 176Mbps and 12,800 ISO.

Though there were hopes for one, there was no successor to the GH2 in 2011; Panasonic debunked any rumors in September. However, the company also indicated, through the mouth of Ichiro Kitao, the head of Panasonic’s camera division, that the GH line had become their flagship and that they would certainly be looking for a 2012 refresh.

Leica V-Lux 3 -- rebranded Panasonic FZ150

The Leica and Panasonic partnership has been a long-standing one and has resulted in some fantastic products — especially some incredibly sharp Micro Four Thirds Lenses. We are also used to Leica taking one of Panasonic’s compact shooters, adding an optimized firmware and releasing it as a Leica branded version. Of course the red dot always demands a premium and this is what has happened with the Panasonic Lumix FZ150.

Leica has announced the V-Lux 3 superzoom bridge camera, which is a rebranded FZ150 with a few cosmetic changes. The two cameras share the same 12.1-megapixel CMOS sensor and 24x zoom Leica DC Vario-Elmarit 4.5-108mm f/2.8-5-2 (25-600mm 35mm equivalent) lens. It can shoot up to 12 frames per second at full resolution and is capable of full HD 1080p60 video in AVCHD format. The V-Lux 3 has a 3-inch fully articulating 460,000 dot LCD display

It will start shipping in January 2012 for $949, a $450 premium over the Panasonic FZ150. In order to at least give some grounds for the hefty premium demanded, Leica is packaging the V-Lux 3 with Adobe’s Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements software and a two year warranty.

The Sony NEX-7 is the most anticipated compact mirrorless interchangeable lens camera (MILC). Although Sony’s current NEX shooters offer amazing image quality, as a result of their large sized APS-C sensor, their interface is better geared towards beginners. The NEX-7 changes this by offering a set of dials with a new control user interface and an amazing high-resolution OLED electronic viewfinder. It also pushes the megapixel envelope for MILCs, with a new 24-megapixel sensor, also found in the larger Alpha A77 and A65 single lens translucent cameras.

After some delay in actually releasing the camera, Sony USA has now confirmed that the NEX-7 will ship this month in limited quantities to early pre-orders. We had reported that Sony resumed production of the camera last month after the catastrophic floods in Thailand had halted production.

A dark and cinematic commercial has aired in Fujifilm’s home country for their latest high-end point-and-shoot digital camera. The Fujifilm X10 makes a journey through the streets, and behind the alleys, of Hong Kong, as a girl shoots an off the beaten path day in the metropolis.

Our take on the advertisement, which you’ll find after the break: it’s as unique as the camera itself. If you do feel inspired by it, you might want to check out the work of Nobuyoshi Araki and Daido Moriyama for some more interesting visuals.
